In this final installment of our Back to Basics series, Director of Client Success Yennhu Nguyen walks through the fundamentals of the YuJa Lumina Video Platform and how course creators and instructors can put it to work inside their Blackboard environment. The session focuses on the foundational tools that make it easier to build an inclusive video library from the ground up — from your first upload through publishing content directly into your course.
You’ll see how to access Lumina through the LTI link or Books and Tools menu, navigate the media library, and create recordings using both Browser Capture and Software Capture. Yennhu also walks through the in-browser, non-destructive Video Editor — covering captions, chapters, text overlays, watermarks, blurring, and trimming — along with the accessibility hub, where audio descriptions can be generated manually or with GenAI. The session closes with the two main ways to get content in front of students: publishing to a course channel, and embedding directly into Blackboard content or discussions using the YuJa Media Chooser.
